Colocation Provider gives Strong Security Guarantee: maincubes offers full data integrity according to ISAE 3402

Datacenter operator maincubes is building further on its promises on quality and security. The service provider has successfully completed ISAE ISAE 3402[1] Type 1 certification for its datacenter locations in Frankfurt (FRA01) and Amsterdam (AMS01), adding to their existing ISO and TÜV attests. As a consequence, customers are now fully ensured by the integrity and security of data that directly impact their annual reporting. The complex requirements set by ISAE are becoming a crucial element of evidence for datacenters to guarantee security and are especially vital for customers who are themselves subject to ISAE guidelines.

Outsourcing of IT processes is growing in popularity, while the organizations themselves remain responsible for compliance with the internal security regulations. This is especially true for companies that themselves are subject to ISAE 340. They can exclusively collaborate with certified providers and are required to prove their outsourcing partner complies to their internal control system (ICS).

BDO, the fifth-largest accountancy in Germany, has certified two maincubes datacenters, FRA01 and AMS01, for 3402 Type 1 in November. This confirms that maincubes employs excellent processes and controls on services that directly impact the financial results of the service purchaser – i.e. customers. The certification proves that the colocation services provider protects the integrity of the customer’s data according to set requirements and that it is presented accurately in annual reports.

ISAE audits are part of the internal control system (ICS) and allow the implementation of a modular management system for monitoring quality objectives. The certificate also confirms the future security and reliability of the colocation specialist. Business digitalization will push demand from customers selecting datacenters to present this certification.

“The internationally recognized ISAE 3402 audit will become a core quality criterium for colocation providers worldwide,” Albrecht Kraas, CTO and board member of maincubes said. “For that reason, we subject ourselves to very complex requirements. It confirms the validity of the high bar we have been setting for ourselves ever since our founding. We are able to offer full security to our customers, now and in the future, as pioneers in this field.”

After completing full testing of processes and controls according to ISAE 3402 Type 1, maincubes will start audits for Type 2 certification. These require operators to prove the effectiveness of processes over a period of at least six months; a non-negotiable condition for datacenter operators aiming to constantly maintain their security at the highest of levels.
