The maincubes data center in Offenbach near Frankfurt is comprehensively ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certified. The international standard certifies that, in addition to the entire infrastructure and technology, the data center’s services, processes and personnel resources also meet the highest security standards. All contractual and legal requirements and guidelines for data protection and data and information security such as the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) are comprehensively fulfilled. maincubes thus offers certified data security “Made in Germany”.
The highly sensitive security concept, which has been confirmed by an independent auditor from TÜV Saarland, covers both IT and physical security: While the maincubes secureexchange platform integrates not only the latest security standards but also the highly secure Telekom Magenta security portfolio and thus offers complete protection against digital attackers, state-of-the-art biometric access controls, a 24-hour security service and comprehensive surveillance using cameras and motion sensors prevent physical intruders. In addition, a redundant and uninterruptible power supply, state-of-the-art fire protection concepts and the latest passive cooling systems with Kyoto cooling guarantee the greatest possible reliability and availability. Already in the planning phase of the data center, the focus was on offering all areas – from operational security and legal security to technical security including innovative cooling and energy concepts – on a new level. maincubes is thus one of the most modern and efficient data centers worldwide.
The data center operator also received the ISO certificate in record time thanks to its innovative and above-average redundant security systems: after only ten months and in only a single pass, the TÜV inspector certified that the data center meets the strict requirements of the ISO standard. It usually takes many years and several attempts before data centers can guarantee a similarly high level of security.
True innovation demands sustainability
Comprehensive security is never complete, but an ongoing process. maincubes therefore pursues the strategy of inseparably combining innovation and sustainability: On the one hand, all external and internal security standards are always put to the test thanks to annual monitoring audits; on the other hand, the company continuously invests in new security solutions. The TÜV-certified ISO certificate is initially valid for three years.
“We want to offer our customers a truly secure home for their IT. That’s why we’re committed to meeting and exceeding current security standards to protect our customers and their data from tomorrow’s potential threats today. Looking at other companies shows that many do not meet or cannot meet this challenge. We are pleased that this independent ISO certification has given us the title of a pioneer data center,” says Albrecht Kraas, CTO and one of the managing directors of maincubes.
