Certifications ensure transparency about future readiness and are a key factor when selecting data centers, as independent standards clearly demonstrate security and quality. We align with the “Blue Angel” criteria, plan to reuse waste heat, and ensure top reliability and performance – including support for high-performance computing – through TÜV and ISO certifications.

CERTIFICATIONS
All Advantages of Our Data Center at a Glance
Reliability
BER01 is certified according to DIN-EN50600 VK3, and exceeds these requirements in power supply and thus achieves availability class IV (VK4) in parts. maincubes relies on rotating UPS systems in the IP bus for an uninterruptible power supply.
Sustainability
BER01 fulfills all criteria and requirements of the German Federal Environmental Agency’s “Blue Angel” label. Its adiabatic cooling technology is designed to be sustainable, while decreasing costs and was selected to suit the site conditions. The modular concept allows temperature levels to be controlled in each individual room based on hardware requirements.
Waste Heat Utilisation
The waste heat from BER01 is put to good use. It is efficiently and directly fed into the adjacent Areal GoWest site to sustainably heat buildings in the surrounding community. maincubes optimises the use of resources and provides a sustainable heat supply for the community.
Physical Security
Our data center offers multi-layer security from the outside gate to your own space in the data center. Clients or maincubes can provide what is required – from biometrics to multi-level access controls, camera surveillance, comprehensive fire protection and a 24-hour, on-site security service. Customized IT infrastructure security installations meet every customer need without construction constraints.
Single-Tenant Colocation
BER01 is a single-tenant data center. This means that there is only one user of the colocation, whose requirements are met by the networks, power supply and physical security. Due to the data center’s flexible design, it can meet very high customer requirements.
Architecture and Design
The sustainable maincubes data center BER01 fits harmoniously into the overall architectural concept of the newly developed GoWest site in Berlin-Schmargendorf. Environmental aspects were already taken into account during the planning and construction stages, and future resource-saving operations in cooperation with the neighboring community are planned.
